WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY

My teachers who came last summer have been enthusiastic all year about ideas from the Institute--they'll be back this summer!

I have learned many important aspects of instructional strategies.  Of most importance is the fact that it is not about the teacher, but rather it is about the student learning that takes place. 

As a result of implementing ideas and strategies from MLEI my students are more engaged and successful in their school work.

A highlight of MLEI was meeting consultants from around the country--The ones who wrote the texts we use in courses and read in journals.(WOW!)They were always accessible and willing to talk to us about our small school.

This Institute has given me hope and the courage to take the full journey.

I really enjoyed the institute. I liked the focus on student voice. I felt that having everyone working together for much of the time gave us common experiences that we could continue to talk about at lunch and breaks.

I'm returning to MLEI because it inspires me for the next school year!  It's awesome, from learning new teaching strategies to new technology.

I now know how crucial community building is in making the changes in our program.  In addition, student voice is imperative to our success this upcoming school year.

Great concentrated time we don't have during the school year to meet and collaborate.

Wonderful PD activity we highly recommend for teachers from any school district in any discipline.  Our district sends people every year.

I had a great time! As a new teacher I feel that I got a wide variety of information and practices I can bring with me to my classroom. I can't wait for next year! 

The facilitators' and consultants' enthusiasm was contagious. They rekindled our enthusiasm for what we really needed to do to accomplish our goals.

 This was a very effective workshop.  Keep up the good work. Both the modeling and the organization of the material was excellent. The opportunity to do hands on activities was also great.
